About Me
I’m KUBWIMANA Martin , an academic and policy analyst passionate about reshaping narratives and informing policy from the intersections of African, European, and global experiences.
“True change begins when unheard voices shape the story — and every perspective is given the power to be seen and understood.”
I am KUBWIMANA Martin, an academic researcher, multidisciplinary strategist with a global perspective and a purpose-driven career. Passionate about the transformative potential of policy, research, and people-centered development, my academic background and professional journey bridge multiple continents, languages, and fields of study — from communication, to post-conflict peacebuilding to international studies and community-centered development, with much focus on Africa, then elsewhere.
This platform serves as a space where I publish academic articles, policy reflections, and critical commentaries that engage with pressing global and regional issues. It is also a forum for hosting in-depth interviews with scholars, thought leaders, international NGOs, and social actors whose perspectives contribute to shaping dialogue and action on peace, governance, and development. Through these contributions, I aim to foster conversations that bridge research and practice, while encouraging inclusive and transformative approaches to social change.
Beyond publishing and dialogue, the platform also offers consulting services in project design, program evaluation, and strategic communication, particularly for institutions engaging with Africa. With experience spanning peacebuilding, education, migration, and advocacy, I provide insight-driven analysis that strengthens organizational strategies and amplifies impact. This work is rooted in a belief that effective communication and evidence-based approaches are vital for achieving meaningful development outcomes.
Equally central to this platform is its role as a bridge for global collaboration. Fluent in English, French, and African-rooted languages, I engage across cultural and linguistic borders to connect individuals and organizations committed to building a more just, humane, and peaceful world. I remain especially dedicated to uplifting African voices in international discourse and to creating opportunities for young scholars and emerging leaders to speak, write, and act with confidence and purpose.
I hold a strong academic foundation that bridges communication, peacebuilding, and international relations. My qualifications include a BA in Public Relations and Communication, an MA in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation, and a Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Warsaw, Poland. I have further strengthened my professional expertise with certifications in Project Management (PMP) and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for Development (MEL4DP). These studies and credentials have equipped me with both theoretical and practical tools to address complex social challenges while fostering meaningful engagement across diverse communities.
Over the past decade, I have combined rigorous research and policy analysis with hands-on program implementation in peacebuilding, education, and migration. My professional journey has taken me from leading public relations and conflict analysis at the Catholic Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace in Rwanda, to designing and evaluating preschool development strategies for The Salvation Army Rwanda and Burundi Command, and raising awareness for children with visual impairments at the Jordan Foundation in Rwanda and now Canada. Each role has deepened my commitment to communication that drives transformation and to programs that create lasting social impact.
In addition to my work in Rwanda and Canada, I have built extensive professional connections and knowledge through engagements with European institutions and NGOs, including AirHelp and Amazon Poland. My volunteer experiences with Polska Fundacja dla Afryki and the Salvatti Foundation reflect my dedication to international research and advocacy for African communities in need. As a UN Volunteer (2020 Cohort) with Play for Peace, I contributed to translation, resource development, and program evaluation, advancing global efforts toward the Sustainable Development Goals—specifically Quality Education (SDG 4), Peace and Justice (SDG 16), and Partnerships (SDG 17).
